The Central Luzon Philippines Annual Conference recently held a transformative Lay Servant Ministry (LSM) Training at Padapada United Methodist Church in Sta. Ignacia, Tarlac. The event brought together more than 150 dedicated lay members eager to deepen their ministry skills and strengthen their calling to serve.
Building Capacity Across Five Districts
Participants traveled from five districts across the conference—West Central, Central, North Central, East Central, and Northeast Central Luzon Districts—demonstrating the widespread commitment to lay leadership development throughout the region. The training offered both Course 1 and Course 3 of the LSM advanced courses, providing foundational and advanced instruction to equip lay servants for meaningful ministry.
Expert Leadership and Instruction
Dr. Remedios Facun, the LSM Director, along with her dedicated team of assistant district directors, expressed deep gratitude for the lay members who invested their time and energy to attend and complete the courses. Their commitment reflects the vital role lay servants play in the life and mission of the church.

Selected clergy from across the conference; Rev. Hipolito Mina Jr., Rev. Jonathan Andres, Rev. Eduardo Sales, DS Rev. Abundio Sabado, Rev. Jeffrey Galbadores, and Rev. Rogemer Sison, delivered formative lectures designed to support the spiritual and practical growth of lay servants. These teaching sessions provided participants with valuable insights and tools for effective ministry in their local churches and communities.
District Support and Vision
The District Superintendents from each participating district and their pastors, demonstrated strong support for the training event, recognizing that well-equipped lay members are essential to the expansion of the church’s mission. Their vision for empowered lay leadership continues to drive initiatives like this training throughout Central Luzon.

Deaconesses as well, are present to support this advance course, acknowledging that lay members are co workers in the vineyard of God for the advancement of God’s Kingdom.

Warm Hospitality at Padapada UMC
Padapada United Methodist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Hipolito Mina Jr. and Deaconess Hayale Damasco, provided exceptional hospitality to all delegates. The host church’s lay members volunteered generously, working together to create a welcoming environment that allowed participants to focus on learning and spiritual growth—all for the glory of God.
The success of this Lay Servant Ministry Training reflects the Central Luzon Philippines Annual Conference’s ongoing commitment to developing lay leadership and expanding the reach of the Gospel throughout their respective area. As these 150+ newly trained lay servants return to their districts, they carry with them renewed skills, deeper knowledge, and a strengthened calling to serve God’s people wherever they are planted.
