The United Methodist Church Tel Aviv marked a significant milestone with the celebration of its 12th Church Founding Anniversary and Thanksgiving Celebration held on October 24, 2025, at 36 Levanda Street (2nd Floor), Tel Aviv. This annual observance served as both a reflection of the congregation’s spiritual journey and a reaffirmation of its commitment to ministry, community outreach, and collective worship.

A Gathering of Gratitude and Renewal
The anniversary program commenced at 7:00 P.M., bringing together members, friends, and partners in the faith community. Guided by the theme “Rejoice in Hope” (Romans 12:12), the celebration underscored the enduring importance of perseverance, unity, and hope amid the challenges faced both individually and as a church body.

The theme served not only as a passage of encouragement but also as a theological anchor, reminding the congregation of the essential Christian disciplines of steadfast prayer, joyful expectation, and resiliency in service.
Special Message from the Guest Preacher
A highlight of the evening was the message delivered by Bishop Rodel M. Acald, who joined the congregation as the guest preacher. His sermon provided a doctrinally grounded reflection on hope as an active virtue, focusing on its role in sustaining spiritual vitality and guiding believers toward purposeful discipleship. The message offered both scriptural clarity and practical insight aligned with Wesleyan theological perspectives.

Beyond the worship program, the anniversary gathering reinforced the church’s mission as a spiritual home for Filipinos and international members living and working in Israel. Over the past twelve years, the congregation has continued to foster an environment of hospitality, prayer, and service. The event acknowledged the contributions of various ministry leaders, volunteers, and partners whose dedication has supported the church’s continuous growth.
Baptism at the Jordan River
As part of the anniversary highlights, members of the congregation also participated in a baptismal service at the Jordan River, a site historically associated with the baptism of Jesus. The group gathered in the river wearing white garments, symbolizing renewal and commitment to the Christian faith.

The setting provided a solemn environment for reflection on the theological significance of baptism as an outward profession of inner transformation. The ceremony strengthened communal bonds and affirmed the participants’ personal dedication to discipleship, marking a meaningful spiritual moment in the life of the church.
Looking Ahead
As the United Methodist Church Tel Aviv journey to its thirteenth year, the congregation remains committed to expanding its ministries, strengthening fellowship, and deepening its engagement with both local and diaspora communities. The anniversary celebration stands as a testament to God’s faithfulness and the enduring strength of a community united in purpose.
