Today, I want to testify to the goodness of God in my life. This year’s birthday celebration may have been one of the simplest I’ve had, yet it turned out to be one of the most meaningful.
My heart is overflowing with gratitude because of the surprise effort of the Workers League, led by Rev. Jonathan Andres, in collaboration with our Lay Leader, Bro. Victor Catabona. Together, they prepared a small but heartfelt celebration for me on my 56th natal day. I truly felt honored and loved, not only as a servant of God but also as part of a family of faith.
It was a day filled with joy, especially because I was able to spend it with my family. Their presence is always a reminder of God’s faithfulness through the years. Early in the morning, I was also blessed with the opportunity to preach at San Carlos UMC. Standing before the congregation, meeting the church council and members under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Jonathan Andres, was a privilege I deeply cherish. Preaching the Word of God on my birthday reminded me once again of my calling and the grace that sustains me in this journey of ministry.
Even before the day officially began, my heart was already filled with gladness. A flood of greetings on social media, especially on Facebook, poured in from friends, relatives, and church family. Each message, no matter how simple, felt like a spark of joy—lighting up my heart and reminding me that I am surrounded by love and prayers.
Looking back, I cannot help but marvel at God’s goodness. At 56, I see His hand guiding me, His grace sustaining me, and His people encouraging me. Truly, birthdays are not just about adding another year to life, but about witnessing the many ways God has been faithful.
So today, I give all the glory to God. Thank You, Lord, for the gift of life, the gift of family, the gift of ministry, and the gift of a loving church community. May the years ahead continue to be lived for Your glory and service.
