August 10, Sunday, Dicolor United Methodist Church became a hub of youthful energy and fellowship as it warmly welcomed the United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) members from Colibangbang, Dapdap, and Don Basilio United Methodist Churches for a special joint gathering. The event was filled with joy, learning, and the spirit of unity as young people came together to strengthen their faith and build lasting friendships.
The fellowship began with praise and worship led by Gragasin Sisters (Chlaire, Chlarise, and Chelcy in the backup) with Gio Gragasin (drummer) setting a Christ-centered atmosphere for the day. Rev. Lorenzo De Leon then delivered an inspiring and challenging lecture on the theme of “Strengthening Our Faith.” Drawing from Scripture and real-life applications, he encouraged the youth to stay rooted in God’s Word, remain active in ministry, and support one another as they navigate the challenges of life. His message deeply resonated with the participants, reminding them that faith grows stronger when nurtured in community and lived out in action.
After the lecture, participants enjoyed a time of fellowship in their Group Dynamics headed by Raven Puerto. The sharing of reflections speaks more of their spiritual journey towards maturity. After that dynamics, a closing prayer is led by Rev. Roge Sison. Then a sumptuous snack lovingly prepared by the gracious members of Dicolor UMC is served. This simple act of hospitality created a warm environment where youth could connect more personally, share stories, and deepen their bonds as brothers and sisters in Christ.
The gathering was not only a time for learning but also a celebration of unity among the UMYF members of the different local churches. Through such events, the youth are reminded that they are part of something bigger—a wider family of faith within the United Methodist connection.
As the day concluded, everyone looked forward with excitement to the next joint fellowship, which will be hosted by Colibangbang UMC on the first Sunday of September. The seeds of faith, friendship, and cooperation planted during this gathering will surely continue to grow, bearing fruit for God’s glory in the months to come.
