August 2, 2025 – Dicolor United Methodist Church, CLD CLPAC BEA
In a joyful and Spirit-filled gathering at Dicolor United Methodist Church, 19 dedicated lay members were awarded certificates of completion for the Lay Servant Ministry Basic Course, marking a significant step in their journey of service and discipleship within the church.
The event was a testament to the power of collaborative ministry. The training course was facilitated by a roster of seasoned and passionate instructors, each bringing their unique perspective to the call of lay servant leadership.
Rev. Jackielou Andres led the session on Ministry of the Baptized, grounding participants in the theological foundation of their call.
Rev. Nazareno Dela Cruz focused on Leading, helping participants understand what it means to be servant leaders in their local churches.
Rev. Rogemer Sison provided reflections on Caring, emphasizing the pastoral and compassionate aspect of lay ministry.
Rev. Alvin Puerto explored Communicating, equipping participants with the tools for effective proclamation and testimony.
Rev. Reynan Sabala concluded the series with Into the World, inspiring the lay servants to engage in mission and outreach beyond the church walls.
Before the sessions commenced, Rev. Augusto S. Rosario Jr., District Superintendent of the CLD District, offered an inspirational message that challenged and encouraged the newly trained lay servants to remain faithful to their calling. His words stirred a renewed passion in the hearts of all present.
Bro. Victor Arciaga, Council Chairperson of Dicolor UMC, warmly welcomed the attendees, expressing joy that the church could be a vessel for nurturing and equipping leaders for the wider ministry.
The atmosphere was further lifted by an energetic and heartfelt singspiration led by Deaconess Leah Andaya and Deaconess Jenyl Joy Sabala, setting a tone of praise and thanksgiving for the entire event.
This formative milestone was made possible under the faithful leadership of Sis. Loida A. Sison, the LSM Directress of the CLD District. Her efforts in organizing and guiding this initiative reflect a deep commitment to raising up empowered and equipped lay leaders in the life of the church.
Special thanks were extended to the members of Dicolor UMC whose hospitality and support helped make the event a success: Bro. Ernie Panigbatan, Sis. Mellany Gragasin, Sis. Daisy Mae Tolenada, and Sis. Herminia Revira. The event also received the full support of CSA District President Stella Marie Puerto, whose presence served as a reminder of the shared mission across the connection.
As these 19 completers return to their respective congregations, they do so not only with certificates in hand but with hearts ignited by the Spirit and minds enriched with knowledge. Truly, the future of the church is bright when laypeople answer the call to lead, care, communicate, and serve—into the world.
To God be the glory!
